2024 Holidays and Closures
Here is the current 2024 Curious Explorers Calendar of Activities, Holidays, and Closures.
***WEATHER: Our Inclement Weather Protocol is informed by DCPS closing and delayed opening unless special circumstances demand separate closing and delayed opening for Curious Explorers. Parents will always be notified via Email/Google Group as soon as a decision is made. We also expect additional Professional Development Days during the year since OSSE posts the training monthly in their newsletter.

Note: As the Islamic calendar is based on the lunar cycle, Ramadan rotates by approximately 10 days each year. This year, Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of Sunday, March 10, 2024 and conclude on April 8, 2024.
There are two official holidays in Islam that are celebrated by Muslims worldwide:
Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The timing of both holidays are set by the lunar Islamic Calendar, which is based upon the cycle of the moon, and so is different from the more common, European, solar- based Gregorian calendar. Therefore, we put two dates on the calendar 8th or 9th but we’ll let you know in a week ahead during Ramadan.
